The launch of the new game comes at a delicate time as Zynga is considering filing for an initial public offering in the coming weeks, according to people familiar with the matter. A Zynga spokeswoman declined to comment on any IPO plans in the works.
In the new game, players have to rebuild an island nation after an attack by an evil alliance, led by a villain called The Raven. Players can choose to fight with friends in their Facebook social network, who are also “Empires & Allies” players, against the bad guys.
